On July 15 and 16 the city of Manises will show again to all visitors the process of elaboration of ceramic craftmanship.
The artisans leave the workshops for two days and take to the streets to show us their art. You can see all kinds of techniques and procedures, such as metallic luster, painting, raku, turning, elaboration of flowers, wicker or socarrats, which turn clay into a handmade object.
All attendees will be able to put into practice what they have seen and even take home a creation of their own. Visitors will be able to enjoy different activities and educational workshops for the whole family.
The activities will be guided by expert artisans such as Drac Ceramic, Aliarte, Francisco Mas Tortosa, Porcelanas Mercedes, Encisar-te, Antonia Balastegui Reca, Arturo Mora, Pepe Royo, Rafa Mora, Francisco Álvarez, La Botiga De Gema, Nacho Suministros Cerámicos, Educart, Antonio Cordero Herrera, ANPEC, Taulellet, Cerámicas Viki Rodríguez, Solc De l'Art, Vicente Espinosa, Andrés Santiago and Trazzyuz.
In addition, the occupational center Francisco Navarro and the following associations will also participate: Clavaria Santes Justa i Rufina, Ceràmica dels Papes, Amics de l’MCM and, of course, Asociación Valenciana de Cerámica AVEC-Gremio.
Moreover, to celebrate our second year as a UNESCO Creative City, we will have national and international participants from other creative cities around the world: Amjad Mohammad Abdulhadee Awad and Ra'ad Khader Mohammad Theban from Madaba (Jordan), Canan Günes Fatih AydIn and RIdvan Asar from Kütahya (Turkey), Elisabete Dias and Telmo Macedo from Barcelos (Portugal), Paducah (USA), Cristina Pedros Vila from Dénia and Eugenia Boscá from Llíria.

On Sunday, during the celebration of the Festa de la Ceràmica, there will be a pottery wheel competition with open participation in two categories: amateur and professional.
Up to 10 contestants per category.

This year the artisan honored is Antonia Balastegui Reca. Self-taught painter who has developed her career in the factory La Cerámica Valenciana de José Gimeno.
During the ceremony, a video will be shown that summarizes the life of the award winner and praises her main characteristics: her human qualities, her career and her good work.
